Butterscotch Lace Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 C. butter, melted

  • 2 1/4 C. rolled oats

  • 1 T. molasses

  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

  • 1 1/2 C. brown sugar

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 3 T. flour

  • 1 tsp. vanilla


Evening Preparation:

  • Mix sugar with butter; pour over oats.

  • Let stand over night to absorb butter.

The Next Day:

  • Heat oven to 375.

  • Mix all ingredients into oat mixture.

  • Drop level teaspoons of dough 2" apart on greased sheet.

  • Bake 5-7 min. until brown at edges.

  • Allow to cool on sheet for several min. before removing to rack to cool completely.
